“Accustomed to having lived for several years in a large house on Nun’s Island, the client settled into a penthouse apartment with a panoramic view of downtown Montreal, Mount Royal and the St. Lawrence River. From the outset, it seemed to me that this magnificent view – one of the finest in Montreal – should become the focus of the project. The client wanted to live in a bright, welcoming loft-style apartment. I proposed a space reminiscent of the great contemporary lofts of Manhattan or Los Angeles, a loft that exudes calm and comfort while showcasing the continually changing face of the city.” – René Desjardins
Everything was possible because the building in which the apartment was located was still under construction. The concept space: a large 3300 square foot unit resulting from the merger of two penthouses with full height fenestration on the north, east, and south aspects, lending exceptional natural light.
