It was Luc Doyle, optometrist, father of Patrick who founded the group in 1978. He was a pioneer, one of the first to offer a variety of frames to consumers when the choice had previously been quite limited. Patrick was the one who made the business into a household name. He has been the marketing director for seven years, concentrating on developing the client experience and on positioning the Doyle name. He is also involved in purchasing. He believes that “the eyecare consumer is more interested in professional service and quality products than in the store’s name or the price.” Doyle wants to personalize the style of each and every boutique, hence the reason that the store in Ville Mont-Royal (luxury and fashion frames) doesn’t offer the same lines as the store in St-Henri (artistic and urban). “We know we have done our job when our clients receive comments about their beautiful glasses!” he adds.
