SINCE THAT TIME, HE HAS BEEN IMPORTING THE WORLD’S MOST PRESTIGIOUS CLOTHING LINES FOR MEN. HENRI VÉZINA BECAME THE FIRST STORE IN CANADA TO CARRY COLLECTIONS BY DESIGNERS HUGO BOSS, ANDRÉ COURRÈGES, AND GIANFRANCO FERRÉ. SO, WHERE ARE YOU LIKELY TO RUN INTO THE PRESIDENT OF HENRI VÉZINA WHEN HE’S NOT BUSY MANAGING HIS BUSINESS OR TRAVELLING THE WORLD IN SEARCH OF THE BEST IN MEN’S FASHION? POSSIBLY ON THE PUTTING GREEN.

Something that you can’t live without? My watch.

The accom­plishment you are most proud of? My two children: my son Kenzo and my daughter Hsuan.

Something that most people don’t know about you? In 1969, I was invited to the tryouts at the Montréal Alouettes training camp.

Your favourite restaurant? Cava on Avenue du Parc in Montréal. The owner is Costas Spiliadis, who also owns the famous Milos.

What do you recommend as a must try? The Saganaki Shrimp. They are exquisite!

Your favourite restaurant for a business lunch? Ammos, right next door to the shop, at Centropolis.

Your cocktail of choice? A glass of Sancerre.

A town that inspires you? Venice.

The trip of your dreams? Golfing in Ireland.

What designer do you adore? Roberto Cavalli.

The ultimate in chic is… Wearing shoes and a belt by Ferragamo, both made of the same leather.

A cause that is important to you? The Traumatology Center at the Fondation de l’Hôpital Sacré-Cœur de Montréal.

What drives you crazy? People who are always late.

A book we are likely to find on your bedside table? A book about John F. Kennedy, someone who I find fascinating.

A painter whose works you admire? Marc-Aurèle Fortin. My friends know why.

Three values that define you? Honesty, loyalty, and respect for others.
